Botanical Name: Backhousia Citrodora
Lemon myrtle has been used by the indigenous people of Australia as a bush food and natural remedy for centuries! The essential oil is distilled from the leaves of the tree, otherwise known as Backhousia citiodora, which is native to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia.
The high citral content of 90 - 97% of the essential oil was ascertained more than 100 years ago but it is only in recent years that the value of this botanical has been rediscovered.

Blends well with: Cypress, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Tea Tree and most citrus essential oils.

Lemon Myrtle essential oil is used as an antiseptic, disinfectant and expectorant and is said to be more powerful than Tea Tree. Lemon Myrtle can assist in easing chest congestion and is a potent antibacterial agent. It also helps ease muscle pains & inflammation.
